We have specifically designed a tour that is focused on showing off our favorite spots for Vietnamese food and recipes in Hanoi in a tasting menu style. Throughout the night we will travel from various locations in Hanoi on a motorcycle tour while we eat local Vietnamese food and drink our way through our 6 courses menu. The “Vietnamese Food Vendors” we will be visiting specialize in very specific Vietnamese Recipes and often only have 1 or 2 Vietnamese food dishes that they offer which is the common theme for local Vietnamese Street Food.

What kind of Vietnamese food do you offer on the Hanoi Street Food Tour?

Our focus for this tasting menu is to introduce our guests to Vietnamese Street Food in Hanoi City, Vietnam by offering the chance to eat what we find to be delicious Vietnamese recipes in an order that you would expect to experience at a restaurant. Starting with a few local snacks or salads, soup, main course which is typically a Vietnamese style soup, and then onto dessert. In the design of the menu, we have thought long and hard about what Vietnamese food we thought was not only great tasting but would also please a majority of our guests while giving them the experience of trying something different, unique, and local to Vietnam.

This is a sample menu and not the guaranteed menu for your tour:

Nom Du Du Bo Julienned Green Papaya Salad topped with Thai Basil, Dried Beef Liver, Toasted Peanuts and Prawn Crackers. Sauced with Chili Sauce and Light Fish Sauce

Banh Mi Thit Vietnamese Baguette loaded with 9 types of pork, Homemade Mayo, Fresh Vegetable, Chili, and Pickles

Bun cha Hanoi BBQ Pork served with rice noodles and fresh vegetables

Vietnamese Fruit Tasting with Frozen Yogurt, and Black Sticky Rice with Coconut Ice Cream

Vietnamese coffee with eggs

Vegetarian Options Available

Drinks- Bottled Water, Soft Drinks, Juices,  Beer, Cafe

What is the atmosphere like during the tour?

We will be visiting local Vietnamese Street food Vendors on the street or in small local Vietnamese style restaurants so please be prepared to be outdoors in the open air for most of the tour unless the weather in Vietnam decides to not cooperate. The atmosphere is light and fun with a focus on enjoying great Vietnamese food. It is truly like going to a dinner party with local Vietnamese, except this one moves! Guests will be paired with an English speaking local Vietnamese guide who will be with them through the whole tour to help explain all of the Vietnamese food on the tour. Also the opportunity for guests to learn more about Vietnamese culture from a real local.

What Districts will we visit?

Our Afternoon Vietnamese food tour will take us through Districts Ba Dinh, Dong Da, Hai Ba Trung and Hoan Kiem, Long Bien.

Q: Is the food and ice safe?
This is why you are taking our tour rather than stabbing in the dark by wandering the streets on your own. As local man we have the advantage of being able to identify the behind the scenes events that are going on with food at our vendors. When we add a new restaurant or vendor to our tour we are always keeping food safety in mind before we will expose this to our customers. So yes, we have had no problems with our food since we have been hosting our tours here in Vietnam. The ice will be safe at the vendors. The local Vietnamese can not drink dirty ice or dirty water so if a vendor was to serve this they would not be open very long.
Q: Should I cancel our food tour if it rains?
No, we watch the skies thoroughly during the raining season to see if we are going to have a miserable rain that will last all night. In this case, we will cancel the tour. If we have not canceled the tour ourselves we feel that this rain will pass within a short period of time and the tour will still be good to go. During the raining season our food tour will take place in spots that are covered so we can stay dry while we eat and have a merry time. While on the motorbike, we will wear raincoats to keep ourselves as dry as possible while on the streets.;)
